I’m proud to be part of the next generation of our farm, and to be teaching the public why they shouldn’t fear the food that farmers grow.
Maggie grew up on a grains and nursery pig farm with her parents and older brother. McDonnells grow corn, soybeans, and wheat on their farm just south of Monkton, Ontario. They also operate a grain elevator and provide custom farming services to neighbouring farmers, like spraying, harvesting, and planting.
Maggie is currently working towards a diploma in Agriculture from the University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus. She also wants to earn a degree in agribusiness and become a certified crop advisor (CCA). When she’s not studying, Maggie works off the farm doing canola research, as well as working along her parents and brother at home.
