Iced barley coffee

Summertime is here, and that means so are the hot sunny days! One of the best ways to cool down on those warm summer days is with an ice-cold drink. Caffe d’orzo is a coffee-like drink is a hot drink that originates from Italy, and is a caffeine-free drink, with similar qualities to espresso, made of ground barley. We are putting a twist on a classic barley coffee and pouring it over ice with a creamy oat beverage!

Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp of instant barley coffee
- ¾ cup boiling water
- ½ cup oat beverage
- ¼ cup ice
Directions:
- In a small glass, combine instant barley coffee, and boiling water.
- Stir until the coffee is fully dissolved.
- Set aside to cool.
- In a tall glass, place ice.
- Pour oat beverage in glass with ice.
- Add in the cooled barley coffee.
- Stir, & enjoy!
Prefer a sweeter drink? Mix in your favourite flavours or sweeteners with the oat beverage before pouring it over the coffee. Some great options are; maple, vanilla, or caramel syrup!
