Kevin Brown, 52 weeks of #YOURFARMERS
Do something you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.
Kevin Brown loves farming – especially operating equipment. He works with his father in a custom farming business: they use their equipment to work other farmers’ fields. One day, Kevin also hopes to become the fifth generation to own his family’s farm, which is located near Kinkora, Ontario, in Perth County.
Kevin graduated with an agricultural diploma from the University of Guelph. He also spent eight years working the wheat harvest trail in the Midwest United States: many young Ontario farmers fly to southern states like Texas and New Mexico, and travel north harvesting wheat all the way to Alberta .
Kevin feels well equipped to continue operating his family’s farm because he’s already had so much experience. Injuries sustained from a hockey officiating incident haven’t held him back, and the ability to see crops grow and develop while evaluating different production practices are what entices Kevin to the profession and keeps him rooted in the business.
