Grains for the holidays: Citrus gin sour

Did you know whisky isn’t the only alcohol made with Ontario grains? Gin is typically made of a combination of grains, often using wheat and barley as a base. Bring in the New Year with our Citrus gin sour using only 6 simple ingredients!

This recipe is for adults over the age of 19. Please enjoy responsibly.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Ontario distilled gin
  • ½ oz lemon juice
  • ½ oz lime juice
  • 1 egg white
  • ½ oz simple syrup
  • Ice

Directions:

  1. In a cocktail shaker, add gin, lemon juice, lime juice, egg white, and simple syrup
  2. Shake strongly for approximately one minute, until the drink is foamy
  3. Add ice to shaker
  4. Shake again until chilled (approximately 20 seconds)
  5. Strain into a glass
  6. Garnish with a slice of lemon or lime
