Grains for the holidays: Citrus gin sour
Did you know whisky isn’t the only alcohol made with Ontario grains? Gin is typically made of a combination of grains, often using wheat and barley as a base. Bring in the New Year with our Citrus gin sour using only 6 simple ingredients!

This recipe is for adults over the age of 19. Please enjoy responsibly.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Ontario distilled gin
- ½ oz lemon juice
- ½ oz lime juice
- 1 egg white
- ½ oz simple syrup
- Ice
Directions:
- In a cocktail shaker, add gin, lemon juice, lime juice, egg white, and simple syrup
- Shake strongly for approximately one minute, until the drink is foamy
- Add ice to shaker
- Shake again until chilled (approximately 20 seconds)
- Strain into a glass
- Garnish with a slice of lemon or lime
